I fell on the last night of our wedding trip to St. John, USVI. I dislocated my left shoulder causing severe damage to the rotator cuff and detached my bicep muscle at the joint. This happened the night of July 21, 2007.

I had surgery to repair my shoulder on Wednesday, August 18. Dr. Michael Fajgenbaum of the Raleigh Bone & Joint Surgery Clinic performed the procedure at Raleigh Duke Hospital. This was the best hospital experience I have ever had.

I will have my arm immobilized for the next 6 weeks. After that, I'll start physical therapy.

Hey, I thought that you'd learned your lesson about that old Cruzan Rum and rock climbing in the Navy, Kurt... Guess it's a good thing you did the honeymoon thing before the wedding ceremony, huh? Drag about the shoulder. Good to hear the surgery went well. Let me know if it gives you grief after the PT. I've found a couple of tricks that help to keep my beat up old carcass moving. Stay in touch, -Doug.

Congrats to both, sweet honeymoon choice!! Sorry to hear about the accident but you are young and I'm sure you will heal quickly. Regards to Elizabeth. -A
